Mount Rushmore Sightseeing Tour:
Our flagship tour operates daily from mid-May through October, carving its way through the breathtaking landscapes of the Black Hills. This full-day tour begins at the historic Fort Hays, where you can explore the Dances with Wolves film set and enjoy an all-you-can-eat cowboy pancake breakfast. The tour includes stops at:
- Mount Rushmore National Memorial: Spend at least an hour exploring the monument, the sculptors’ studio, and the Lincoln Borglum Museum.
- Iron Mountain Road: Travel along the Peter Norbeck National Scenic Byway, known for its scenic tunnels and pigtail bridges, perfect for capturing stunning photographs.
- Custer State Park: Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife such as buffalo, burros, antelope, elk, and Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep.
- State Game Lodge: Enjoy lunch at the presidential summer white house to former presidents Calvin Coolidge and Dwight D. Eisenhower, with a special recommendation for the buffalo stew.
- Needles Highway: Pass through scenic tunnels and overlooks in Custer State Park.
- Sylvan Lake: A picturesque man-made lake at the bottom of Black Elk Peak, popular with campers, rock climbers, and hikers.
- Crazy Horse Memorial: Spend an hour visiting the largest mountain carving in the world and learn about sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski at his home studio museum.
Winter Mount Rushmore Tour:
From October through May, our special winter sightseeing tour offers a unique opportunity to see Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial in a serene winter setting. This 4-5 hour guided tour starts at the Fort Hays Old West Town and includes hotel pick-up in Rapid City for added convenience
